Starting with Resilio Connect Management Console v3.0.0, Resilio Admin is notified that a change in a Profile parameter might require restarting the Agent or recreating a job for the change to take effect.
There are not that many of such parameters, however, the Administrator needs to know a required action when making the change.
The profile mentions which exactly action is required, but does it only once - if the profile is closed and opened again, the 'Acton required" column will be empty.
If the parameter is changed forth and back to what is was before, without saving the Profile in between, no action will be required for it.
Restarting the Agent
It's one of the two actions required. Additionally to it being mentioned in the Profile itself, the Agents that need to be restarted will also show status "Restart required" in the table of agents.
To restart the Agent open its details, go to tab "Configure" and restart from there. See here for more details.
Recreating the job
Some rare parameters can be applied only for newly created jobs, i.e. changing them for already running job does not take effect. See the list of such parameters below. Recreating a job implies deleting it from the Management Console and creating again.
To learn which jobs need to be recreated, click on the list of jobs that use this Profile
If such a change was made to an Agent profile, click on the list of groups that use this profile. Open the mentioned groups' details to see the jobs they are in:
With default Agent profile it's more tricky. The only way to check if the Default Agent profile is used for a jobs is to check the groups list for column Profile.
Parameters that require recreating a job include but are not limited to:
Ignore symlinks (ignore_symlinks)
Number of disk I/O threads (disk_worker_pool_size)
Synchronize NTFS permissions (windows_fs_acl_mode)
Max size of torrent block (torrent_max_piece_size)
Min size of torrent block (torrent_min_piece_size)
Synchronize extended file attributes (sync_extended_attributes)
Synchronize Posix permissions (posix_fs_acl_mode)
